What skills and experience we're looking for
This full-time post for a Lead Teacher of Psychology is available from September 2026 and is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and thriving school. The successful candidate will be required to teach Psychology at A level and also Science to at least Key Stage 3. This is a maternity cover post which will cease when the member of staff returns from maternity leave.
At Charles Darwin we are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced teacher willing to work independently and alongside the current Faculty members to ensure the achievement of all taught students.

Further details about the role
Psychologyis a popular subject at A level and the school follows AQA specification. The successful candidate would need some experience of teaching this at A Level as they would be the lead teacher for the subject, it would make up half of the overall timetable for the vacant position. As lead teacher for Psychology this post carries TLR2A (£3527).
The Science Faculty at Charles Darwin School is a strong, well-established, and stable team with a clear commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. We deliver AQA Combined Science Trilogy for the majority of students, with AQA Separate Sciences offered to those studying the Triple Award.
