Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, and other materials. A commitment to quality workmanship and safety is essential.
Duties
* Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units according to specifications.
* Measure and cut materials to ensure precise fitting.
* Mix mortar and other bonding agents to secure bricks in place.
* Use hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks.
* Perform repairs on existing structures, including patching and resurfacing.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and roofers on projects.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols.
* Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced workers as needed.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in bricklaying and masonry is essential.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools related to masonry work.
* Knowledge of carpentry and roofing techniques is advantageous.
* Familiarity with welding processes is a plus.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
* Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour for extended periods.
