Aberdeen Neonatal Unit is the North of Scotland tertiary referral centre which has 34 cots for premature and newborn infants with both medical and surgical problems. We provide care for over 700 babies and families per year in our intensive, high dependency and special care nurseries alongside a busy transitional care area and a well‑established neonatal outreach service.
As a member of our team you will be supported to be flexible, reliable and motivated to foster a positive working environment which encourages staff to show initiative and thrive. There will be an expectation to complete the neonatal course to become a qualified specialist neonatal nurse as part of the neonatal developmental programme.
* Work rotational day and night duty, including weekends.
* Support the delivery of family integrated care in partnership with families, reducing separation and empowering families at every step of their journey.
* Participate in ongoing quality improvement work within our neonatal centre of excellence.
* Provide care for over 700 babies and families per year in our intensive, high dependency and special care nurseries.
This post is open to and welcomes applications from newly graduated nurses.
As from 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, but there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
