About Us
Our team provides an Occupational Therapy service on the Island of Bute, based in the Victoria Annexe in Rothesay, working primarily with adults in both inpatient and community settings.
About The Role
This Band 4 Assistant Practitioner role is crucial to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the OT team. You will support Occupational Therapists with their caseloads, working flexibly across all aspects of the service.
You will work under the supervision of registered Occupational Therapists and use specialist assessment and rehabilitation skills with your own caseload of less complex clients, supporting them to maximise their independence at home.
The role also encompasses the provision of equipment and recommendations regarding minor and major adaptations.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa, and NHS Highland is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship.
About You
You should be confident, have excellent communication skills, and either hold an HNC in Occupational Therapy Support or be willing to work towards one.
You must have more than three years’ experience of working in an existing role within either Health or Social Care, a full UK driving licence, excellent organisational and IT skills, and an ability to prioritise a varied workload.
Additional Information
* Effective from 1st April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted pro‑rata. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to keep pay unaffected.
* We welcome applications from Gaelic speakers.
