Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
To provide a safe, reliable, and respectful transport service for elderly passengers aged 65+ attending day opportunities within and around the Tamworth area. The role requires ensuring the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of all passengers throughout their journey — from their doorstep to the venue and return.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely drive the community minibus to transport elderly individuals to and from designated locations.
* Assist passengers from their homes to the bus and from the bus into their day opportunity, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
* Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or concerns promptly.
* Maintain accurate records of journeys, mileage, and any incidents.
* Provide friendly, courteous support to all passengers, including those with mobility issues.
* Ensure the minibus is kept clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
* Liaise with staff at day opportunity centres to ensure smooth drop-off and pick-up procedures.
* Follow all safeguarding procedures and work in line with Community Together CIC's values and policies.
* Report any concerns about passengers' wellbeing to the relevant manager.
Important Requirement:
The successful candidate must hold a Category D1 driving licence, which allows the holder to drive a minibus with up to 16 passenger seats.
