Description
The Sandwell Aquatics Centre was the only brand-new venue built for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
After successfully hosting the Games’ swimming and diving events, the new Sandwell Aquatics has been transformed into a state-of-the-art local leisure centre for Sandwell and the region, opened to the public in summer 2023.
It includes a 50 metre Olympic-size swimming pool, a 10-metre-high competitive dive tower, and a 25-metre dive pool, along with 1,000 spectator seats.
Facilities include:
* A community swimming pool.
* Three 150sqm activity studios.
* Two 4-court sports halls.
* 25-station ladies-only gym.
* Changing village for up to 600 people.
* Dry diving centre with mini floor trampolines.
* New football pitch and changing facilities.
* Urban park and children’s play area.
* Parking for up to 300 vehicles and a café.
Sandwell Leisure Trust seeks an enthusiastic Development Diving Coach to support the development of a world-class diving pathway. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a successful programme.
Reporting to the Head Dive Coach, you will plan and deliver established lesson plans, leading structured lessons for athletes and customers.
Sandwell Aquatic Centre hosts world-class divers and coaches, with potential to host major events and training camps. As a Development Dive Coach, you will coach progressive practices to help individuals reach their goals and develop technical skills.
You may also attend competitions and camps, assisting the Head Dive Coach and Talent Development Diving Coach. A flexible, positive attitude, excellent time management, effective communication, and customer service skills are essential to ensure a professional and enjoyable customer experience.
Requirements:
* Swim England Diving Coach qualification (Level 2).
* Passionate about coaching with a good understanding of the Swim England Diving Framework.
* Recognised lifesaving qualification (RLSS or STA).
