Job Summary
As an Urgent Care Assistant you will support clinicians by driving patients to community‑based appointments and delivering care at patients’ homes, as part of the Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Service.
Role Details
This is a permanent part‑time position supporting a 24/7 service. Shift patterns will include public holidays, evenings, night shifts and weekends. Part‑time hours are available, with a minimum of 13 hours per week.
Note: Applications from candidates requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain adequate stock and drugs in the urgent care car.
* Carry out daily safety vehicle checks.
* Keep the vehicles well‑organised and clean.
* Cover receptionist duties when required.
* Assist the clinician in delivering care in the patients’ home.
* Accept cases from dispatch and drive the clinician to the next visit.
* Meet Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) requirements – the Trust will cover the cost of the DBS check.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, relatives and other staff.
* Ability to work part‑time, including public holidays, evenings, nights and weekends.
* Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check or provide a valid DBS certificate.
