A client within the Public Sector based in Wiltshire is currently recruiting for a Surveyor to join their Maintenance – Operations team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority or social housing environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide technical surveying across a geographical portfolio of properties and deliver effective contract management for planned maintenance programmes.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Undertaking domestic and commercial building surveys to advise on construction defects, disrepair and dilapidations
• Managing planned maintenance delivery through external contractors and overseeing refurbishment works
• Producing detailed survey reports including remedial solution proposals, cost estimates and safe working methods
• Conducting void, repairs, and post-inspection surveys to ensure works meet required standards
• Managing budgets and ensuring maintenance service delivery aligns with health & safety, performance, cost, time and quality standards
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A relevant academic or professional qualification in Construction or Surveying
• Experience of surveying and contract management within the social housing sector
• Experience of monitoring works budgets (circa £500k)
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient IT and Microsoft Office knowledge
• Project management coordination and commercial awareness
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £26 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £21 per hour PAYE).
