Here's what you'll be doing

Location - This role covers Rochdale, Oldham & Calderdale

Salary - £39,208 plus excellent employee benefits and career progression

E.ON UK operates one of the largest Street Lighting Contracting businesses in the UK with a large presence in the East and West Midlands as well as the North West of England. We have four Street Lighting PFI's and work for most local authorities in the areas we operate in.

This is a great opportunity to join an innovative business with the potential to develop your skills and upskill within our Energy Infrastructure Services.

On a daily basis, you will assist with the installation and maintenance of street lighting columns and signs. You will complete work to the correct and highest specification, using the materials and skills effectively while maintaining and developing your technical skills to ensure delivery to high standards at all times.

You will be expected to carry out risk assessments on site and maintain safe working practices, safely using and operating tools, equipment, and vehicles associated with the role. As required, you will attend training to maintain knowledge and application of systems and procedures.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be expected, at times, to work unsocial hours when required, so flexibility and willingness are essential.

Key responsibilities

* Ensure the safe use and operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles associated with the role.
* Be aware of the working environment and surroundings, and understand how to carry out health, safety, and environmental risk assessments.
* Work in a safe manner in accordance with the Company’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality policies and procedures.
* Comply with operational working practices, method statements, and associated risk assessments.
* Take full ownership of personal health and safety responsibilities and those working around you or affected by your operations.
* Ensure correct selection and use of company-provided PPE and equipment as required by relevant risk assessments and method statements.
* Plan, manage, and execute work to ensure completion within expected timescales and deadlines.


What we need from you

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fault diagnosis and rectification.
* CPCS Competent Operator Card (MEWP Boom) or equivalent.
* Current full driving license to operate vehicles up to 7500Kg (C1) and experience/training in driving such vehicles.
* Current NRSWA qualification (Units 2 at minimum) or equivalent.
* Working knowledge of DNO Equipment (G39/1) qualification.
* Current First Aid and Manual Handling certificates.
* High manual dexterity and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Understanding of the Highways Lighting business.
* Knowledge of company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Professional, courteous, confident, and diplomatic approach to customers.
