Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Music Performance and Production to join our Music and Performance team within the Creative Industries Department at our Cambridge Campus. You will join us on a full time (37 hours), full year basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between £29,662-43,662 per annum, plus staff benefits. The Music and Performance department has excellent facilities, ranging from recording studios, Mac suites, rehearsal room facilities and two live performance venues. Mac suites are equipped with Logic Pro X and Adobe software packages. One of the Mac Suites and recording studios is equipped with AVID Pro Tools Studio. The role has the following primary responsibilities: -To teach in the department of Creative Industries, Music Performance and Production across subject areas levels 1-3. May also be required to teach on other programmes at levels 1 - 5 as the department grows and develops in line with market needs. -To deliver an expansive and exploratory programme of creative study (especially in Performance, Stage Etiquette, Improvisation, Music Theory and Instrumental Practices) and (Sequencing, Electronic Composition, Mixing and Mastering, Studio). Must have an understanding of Music Industry (especially in Marketing but also publishing, label infrastructure and freelance working practices) Must be able to embrace theoretical principles, contemporary digital practices/skills and traditional techniques. Also embracing safeguarding, equality and diversity, sustainability, English and Maths subjects. -To be able to provide focused tutorial support and progression advice for learners. The role holder reports to the Assistant Head of Department for Creative Industries (Music, PA). This role does not require line management responsibility. Agile working This role is a full-time position which requires working on site, however, some flexibility for working from home may possible on occasion in agreement with the reporting manager. What we are looking for in our role: The successful candidate should have suitable experience of teaching, learning and assessment across music performance, music production and music industry disciplines. They should have prior experience in an educational facility ranging from teaching and supporting students to technical responsibilities. The successful candidate should have good skills in IT, recording, performance, use of audio/visual equipment for live events, marketing and working with people. The successful candidate will ideally have a degree qualification in a music performance or production specialism and have or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
