Overview
Edgbaston High School for Girls is looking for an experienced and motivated Teacher to join the PE Department and inspire the next generation of sporting prowess. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, share a passion for sport, be a positive role model, and participate in delivering PE curriculum lessons, co-curricular clubs, and home and away fixtures across the Senior and Prep Schools.
We would be especially pleased to hear from applicants who are experienced in teaching Netball and Swimming. A NRASTC qualification would be beneficial, although training can be provided.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality PE curriculum lessons across KS3 & KS4 (and weekly KS2 Games - Netball).
* Lead and support co-curricular clubs and participate in home and away fixtures.
* Promote inclusive, engaging physical education that fosters a lifelong love of activity.
* Be a positive role model and contribute to a supportive, motivating school environment.
Qualifications
* Experience in teaching PE; enthusiasm and a collaborative approach.
* Experience in Netball and Swimming is desirable.
* A NRASTC qualification would be beneficial (training can be provided).
* Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children in line with KCSIE requirements.

Application Process
This is a full-time maternity cover starting January 2025; initially a fixed-term position for one year. Teaching is mainly in the senior school (KS3 & KS4) with a weekly KS2 Games (Netball) expectation. Applications should include a completed school application form and a covering letter of no more than 2 pages summarising suitability for the role as outlined in the information pack.

Interviews will be held during the week of 6 October. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a formal interview and to prepare a lesson based on a brief, with a tour of the school on the day.
