Financial Analyst
* Location: Bath (2 days onsite)
* Job Type: Full-time
* Salary: 36-42k (Some flex on the right person)
This role is crucial for supporting the Head of Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis and involves working closely with the Senior Financial Analyst. You will develop and maintain core data sets and contribute to internal management information that aids strategic decision-making within a rapidly evolving educational sector.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Conduct monthly monitoring and reconciliation of tuition fee income to track budget adherence and highlight variances for forecast adjustments.
* Manage monthly, mid-year, and year-end monitoring and reconciliation of tuition fees for partnerships, ensuring compliance with partnership agreements and accounting principles.
* Develop and maintain models for reporting pay expenditure, and provide data analysis for internal segmental reporting and bi-annual Academic Dashboard meetings.
* Take ownership of certain reporting areas, updating and troubleshooting as needed, and develop reports to support all internal and external reporting requirements using financial systems and business intelligence tools.
* Work proactively with systems accountants to ensure accuracy and robustness in reporting, and maintain records with appropriate version control.
* Undertake additional duties as required within the scope of the role.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with demonstrable experience in data analysis.
* Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel.
* Experience in managing large data sets to produce insightful analysis.
* Ability to create, analyse, and interpret financial reports and budgetary information.
* Experience in creating repeatable and insightful reports using Excel and business intelligence tools.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
* Experience within the Education sector.
* Familiarity with UK GAAP and reporting requirements of HE institutions.
* Experience in a large, complex environment.
