Triple West Medical are seeking a Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology for a minimum 12 month FTC based in East of England.

The Role:
* As a Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred eye care across a broad range of clinical services. You’ll work alongside a team of experienced Consultants and Specialty Doctors, providing general ophthalmic services through outpatient clinics, intravitreal (IVT) injection lists, and casualty sessions.
* You’ll also assist with vitreoretinal theatre cases and have the opportunity to develop your subspecialty interests — particularly if you have an enthusiasm for vitreoretinal work.
* This is a role that blends hands-on clinical care, teaching, and service development in a department where teamwork, innovation, and excellence thrive.
Brief Duties/Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive ophthalmic care within outpatient, theatre and emergency settings
* Run independent clinics including IVT, macular, laser, and follow-up sessions
* Support the consultant team in vitreoretinal theatre cases
* Participate in teaching and supervision of trainees and junior doctors
* Take part in clinical audit, quality improvement, and governance activities
* Contribute to the ongoing development of protocols and best-practice guidelines
* Engage in CPD and learning opportunities to enhance your professional development
The Department
* 5 Consultant Ophthalmologists with diverse subspecialty interests
* 2 Associate Specialists and 6 Specialty Grade Doctors
* A multidisciplinary team of Optometrists, Orthoptists, Specialist Nurses, Contact Lens and Low Vision practitioners, and dedicated clinical coordinators
Requirements
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise
* At least four years of postgraduate experience, with a minimum of two years in Ophthalmology
* Competence in independent cataract surgery and laser procedures
* The ability to manage ophthalmic emergencies confidently
* A commitment to clinical excellence, continuous improvement, and compassionate care
* A fellowship or special interest in vitreoretinal surgery is desirable but not essential.
