Compass Community is seeking a dedicated School Operations Officer to ensure the smooth running of our School’s non-teaching operations. This is a pivotal role, sitting between office staff and senior leadership, where you’ll make a real difference to our staff, pupils, and families. About the Role What You’ll Do - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service. - Manage school systems and databases, including pupil records, attendance, and safeguarding. - Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team. - Coordinate maintenance, health and safety checks, and resource orders. - Support statutory data submissions and compliance processes. - Act as the first point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring timely and professional communication. - Organise school meetings and events, including agendas and minute-taking. - Support with HR administration, admissions, and financial compliance. What We’re Looking For - Strong administrative experience, ideally in education, social care, or a regulatory setting. - Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). - Highly organised, with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. - Clear communicator, both written and verbal. - Discreet, professional, and committed to confidentiality. - Collaborative, resilient, and motivated by supporting others and improving systems. - A child-centred outlook, aligned with Compass’ REACH ethos. Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience - Strong administrative experience, ideally in a social care, education or regulatory setting. - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). - Familiarity with compliance processes, audits or data reporting (desirable).
