We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a key client within the UK nuclear generation sector.
This role will be predominantly based at Hartlepool Power Station, with flexibility for some office/home working and occasional travel to other UK sites.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will:
Be accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects.
Establish and agree the project execution strategy with the client’s project leadership.
Lead a cross-functional project team to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient project outcomes in line with company policies and procedures.
Ensure all project objectives, baselines, and milestones are achieved.
Build and maintain effective working relationships across client and internal teams.
Report operationally to our Operations Manager while remaining directly accountable to the client for project delivery.
This position requires strong leadership within a matrixed, highly regulated environment.
About You
You will bring a proven background in managing complex, multi-discipline projects within highly regulated sectors, ideally nuclear or similar high-hazard industries. Strong communication, coordination, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Degree educated, ideally in engineering or a related discipline.
APMP or equivalent formal project management qualification.
Strong understanding of modern project management techniques within complex organisations.
Knowledge across engineering, design, procurement, safety case development, construction, and commissioning management.
Understanding of Safety Cases and how they are developed/implemented, plus relevant HSE legislation including CDM.
Solid understanding of quality requirements, assurance, and control.
Experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle and managing integrated project teams (staff, agencies, functional support).
Commercial and financial awareness, including estimating, cost control, business case development, and funding submissions.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with estimating, scheduling, risk management, programming, and Earned Value tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
