Overview
Structured Cabling Engineer (Data & Fibre) — Levels Available: Level 1, 2, or 3 (based on experience). Hours: 07:30–16:30, 40 hours/week. Contract Type: Permanent. Holiday: 22 days + bank holidays.
The Role: Seeking dependable, enthusiastic engineers to join a growing delivery team. You'll work on internal and external copper and fibre cabling installations, deploying containment systems and maintaining high standards across varied environments—offices, manufacturing plants, construction sites, and data centres.
Responsibilities
Level 1
* Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6a and fibre cabling
* Diagnose faults in structured cabling systems
* Install Wi-Fi access points, UPS units, and AV equipment
* Follow safety protocols and complete documentation
Level 2/3 (Senior)
* Create/manage risk assessments and method statements
* Oversee project delivery and deadlines
* Conduct site surveys and produce technical documentation
* Liaise with clients and manage updates
* Recommend solutions and support change control
Requirements
* CSCS/ECS site card
* Full UK driving licence
* IPAF/PASMA training
* Strong understanding of structured cabling (data & fibre)
* Able to work independently and in a team
* Good communication and customer-facing skills
* Flexible, organised, and detail-oriented
* SC Clearance (or ability to obtain)
* 3+ years’ experience in structured cabling
* Experience in defence, manufacturing, or data centre environments
* Knowledge of JSP453 and TEMPEST/Security regulations
