About the role
The Hospitality Shift Leader plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of hospitality services during events and daily operations. You will act as the first point of support for the team, maintain service standards, motivate staff, and oversee operational tasks to create a seamless guest experience. You will be responsible for service quality, team coordination, and compliance to ensure every shift runs to high standards of safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Location: Burgess Hall, part of Huntingdonshire District Council’s One Leisure service, in a busy events environment.
Key responsibilities
* Lead, guide and support staff during shifts, ensuring service excellence and compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements.
* Deliver outstanding customer service, respond professionally to guest feedback, and ensure every visitor has a positive experience.
* Drive income growth by achieving sales targets through upselling, trading and excellent product knowledge.
* Oversee cash handling, shift reporting and stock management to ensure accountability and operational efficiency.
* Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety and security across bar and catering facilities.
* Support the wider One Leisure service in promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire locally and beyond.
