A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will manufacture precision components for small gas turbines through the fabrication and welding of nickel alloy materials. You will work with on site jigs to carry out seam welding and fabrication activities, producing high quality components in line with engineering specifications. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will play a key role in maintaining quality, safety, and delivery standards while supporting continuous production through shift working.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine fabrication and welding requirements.
• Fabricate and seam weld nickel alloy components using approved jigs and processes.
• Inspect completed parts visually and through measurement to ensure conformance to specification.
• Identify and resolve quality or manufacturing issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with EHS standards.
• Support continuous production output through shift working to meet customer delivery requirements.
What You Bring
• Completion of a recognised Level 3 apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent technical qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with nickel alloy materials.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross functional teams.
• Basic computer skills for production documentation and reporting.
• A proactive approach to work and continuous improvement.
