Line Manager: Engineering Manager
Location: Llanidloes
We are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to provide technical support in the correction, prevention and elimination of technical problems for the site. To work with production during factory start up.
Responsibilities
* Ensure Health, Safety, Environment, Hygiene and Animal Welfare policies are adhered to.
* Manage and close out all equipment failures, work orders and PPM jobs.
* Enter data into Holistech for all parts used, jobs raised and completed.
* Maintain housekeeping of all workshop areas including stores and ensure the department is audit-ready at all times.
* Maintain your own engineering handback procedures.
* Ensure all work is carried out to specification and that SHE and food safety standards are met.
* Provide appropriate technical support to meet targets for problem correction, prevention and elimination.
* Demonstrate a clear teamwork ethos across the Engineering department and other departments.
* Demonstrate excellent timekeeping, attendance and adherence to company procedures.
* Communicate effectively using appropriate methods.
* Respond promptly to minimize downtime, and quality and efficiency issues.
* Share knowledge proactively within the team and participate as a constructive department member.
* Use risk assessment techniques to ensure safety of plant, equipment, and people.
* Support a culture that emphasises quality, safety, the environment and animal welfare.
* Demonstrate good behavioural and safety principles in all activities.
* Strive to reduce costs while keeping production downtime to a minimum.
* Be adaptable to any shift pattern required.
Skills & Knowledge
* A recognised qualification for mechanical and electrical engineering
* Understanding of engineering requirements; experience in an FMCG chilled environment preferred
* Good aptitude/understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering
* Team player; self-motivated; determined with ability to close out all jobs
* Demonstrate competence through theory and practical assessment on and off the job
* Competent IT/computer skills including Holistech literacy
* Actively seek opportunities for self-development and learning
* Attend training courses as identified by legislative/company requirements
* Engage with PDP process to identify training and development opportunities
