At Derby Kingsway, we have an exciting opportunity for a Student Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team. Ideally you'll already have started your training but we will consider a confident candidate wanting to start training.
About usOur Partner, Emma Gilbert, is an experienced Bristol graduate and leads a supportive team of 4 vets, 4 other nurses, and 3 CCAs and our Practice Manager. We work hard but know how to have a good laugh along the way, we look after our colleagues and genuinely care for one another. We're always looking for novel ways to support our staff wellbeing and create a relaxed atmosphere, so new ideas are always welcomed! We're close to the A38 with good transport links to Nottingham, Burton and the Peak District.
Our modern surgery has been designed to industry leading standards, with state-of-the-art equipment including a dental x-ray, ultrasound, class 4 laser and an in-house lab. We are a silver standard ICC Cat Friendly Clinic but also dog and rabbit friendly!
About you and the roleNurses are the heart of our practice and perform an integral clinical role in caring for our patients. You'll have great communication and organisation skills and take pride in working to a high standard. You will have an interest in, and want to learn about, the practice as a business, as well as how to motivate a team to achieve their personal and practice goals.
As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will assist our experienced team in the care and treatment of animals, supporting clinical procedures, monitoring hospitalised patients, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and equipment. You will provide exceptional client care, help with administrative tasks, and actively develop your practical skills through hands-on experience and training in a supportive environment.
This role is working full time, 40 hours a week, with a mix of early and late finishes and weekends on a rota basis depending on the number of colleagues in.
