A vacancy has arisen for a Flt Lt/Fg Off Intelligence to serve as OC Int Flt at 614 Sqn, Cardiff on PTVR Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date 1 March 2025 (or earlier dependant on candidate circumstances). 614 Sqn is a General Support Sqn (GSS), encompassing 9 professions, providing dedicated support at RAF Brize Norton - the RAF’s largest main operating base - to enable the Air Mobility Force (AMF) to ‘prepare for and deliver global operations’. 614 Sqn is Wales’ only RAF Reserve sqn and recruits from across South Wales and the West of England. OC Int Flt is responsible for the unit’s Intelligence (int) functional delivery as part of the Ops Flt (PTVR officers and aviators). We are looking for a (Phase 2) qualified and experienced int officer who is people-focused, proactive and results-driven who will fit into an established team of Int Analysis quickly. OC Int Flt will be responsible for the leadership, management, welfare and professional development of the Int Flt aviators. They will be the Sqn’s subject matter expert for the delivery of intelligence output (in accordance with the Int profession CONEMP) and will be expected to: Develop how the Int Flt operates and enhance its annual training programme. Seek new and varied opportunities for Int Analysts, while strengthening relationships with the Profession Advisor and other RAuxAF int sqns. Exploit their professional network to benefit this thriving and busy Sqn. Although 614 Sqn is based at Ty Llewellyn Reserves Centre in Cardiff, the majority of trg/duty events, including the 2-week Annual Continuous Training period, takes places at RAF stations with most at RAF Brize Norton. There will be routine UK travel, including an opportunity to participate in overseas expeditions and staff rides. This is an ideal opportunity for a serving RAuxAF officer or an ex RAF Regular to broaden their experience both in a flt cdr position and professionally at a GSS that is vibrant and rapidly expanding, which supports the AMF.
