About the Job
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team in a varied payroll position where no two days are quite the same. Working closely with colleagues, schools and external payroll providers, you'll play a key role in ensuring payroll processes are delivered efficiently and employees are paid accurately and on time. Duties will include:
1. Acting as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries and providing guidance.
2. Supporting schools with payroll processes, system usage and best practice.
3. Processing payroll changes including starters, leavers, contractual amendments and additional payments.
4. Calculating salaries, holiday pay, overtime and allowances etc.
5. Reviewing payroll data and resolving discrepancies ahead of monthly payroll deadlines.
6. Supporting pension administration activities and associated payroll processes.
7. Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with GDPR.
8. Producing payroll reports and carrying out regular data validation checks.
9. Liaising with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure a high-quality payroll service. Assisting with payroll audits, reviews and process improvements.
About the Successful Applicant
School payroll experience is a good advantage but not essential. The successful applicant will have previous experience working within a busy payroll environment and a strong understanding of payroll processes and legislation. You will possess excellent numerical skills, advanced Excel knowledge and exceptional attention to detail.
