Overview
We have an open opportunity for the right candidate to join our team as a Residential Support Worker, working with young people between the ages of 8 - 18. Our positions offer an attractive salary above the government minimum wage together with 360 hours annual leave entitlement. The role is open to experienced candidates or those with transferable skills, as full comprehensive face to face training is offered.
Base pay range
Salary £35,809.49 per annum (inclusive of sleeps), rising to £36,303.06 on completion of a successful probation period

About Us
Affinity Children’s Care is a therapeutic residential childcare provider, offering a variety of residential placements to young people between the ages of 8 - 18 who may display emotional and challenging behaviours. Our aim is to create a safe and sustainable nurturing environment for our young people and a developmental and rewarding workplace for our care team. We ensure our team adheres to Ofsted standards and guidelines referencing the Children’s Act and Children’s Care Standards.
Affinity Children's Care vision is to open another 3 - 4 homes over the next 2 - 3 years, with opportunities for progression for those who demonstrate a wish to progress and a caring/development environment for looked after young people.
Job Role
We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to support young people aged 8 - 18. The role offers a salary above the government minimum wage and 360 hours annual leave entitlement. The position is open to experienced candidates or those with transferable skills; comprehensive face-to-face training is provided.
Working on a 3 week-rolling rota (56.4 hours per week: 07:00 to 22:30 plus sleeps). Sleep shifts are included in the annual salary and paid during annual leave. The pattern is 1 day on, 2 days off.
You will be a positive role model, help young people develop meaningful relationships, and support their development to reach their full potential. We offer development opportunities, CPD, and progression within the company.
Qualifications
Ideally, you hold or are working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, Children’s Residential, or a Level 4 Diploma in Children’s and Young People. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in childcare or a youth setting at a Residential Childcare Worker level, and an understanding of challenges faced by young people and carers in residential care. A full UK driving licence is required.
