RM Recruit is supporting a growing SME charity in recruiting a Finance Director for their team. This is a standalone role responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reports to support effective management of the organisation's strategic and operational changes and resources.
With steady income streams secured for the next 5 years through diverse grant funding, this arts-focused Not for Profit organisation seeks an experienced director-level accountant to help spearhead future growth and provide a reliable, hands-on finance service for the wider team.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Preparation of business plans, budgets, and forecasts, including cash flow forecasting.
2. Supporting the application process for grant funding and ensuring compliant administration of grant income.
3. Delivering accurate and timely financial reports to enable effective management of strategic and operational plans and resources.
4. Implementing effective financial management, information, and controls.
5. Ensuring regulatory compliance with entities such as Companies House, HMRC (PAYE, VAT, and Corporation Tax), The Charity Commission, etc.
6. Preparation of statutory, regulatory, and funder financial reports.
7. Owning the budgeting and forecasting process, including cash flow forecasting, and partnering with operational staff.
8. Overseeing outsourced purchase ledger, payroll, and payment processing services.
This is a fully remote role working 3 days per week, with meetings in Birmingham or London every 6 weeks.
Applicants must have experience working in the Not for Profit, Charity, or Community Interest Companies sectors. Experience with National Lottery Heritage Funding is highly advantageous.
