Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry (12‑month maternity cover), ideally with an endorsement in Rehabilitation Psychiatry. You will be part of a supportive group of Consultants working within Working Age Adult services across Cornwall.
The post sits within the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service, which has had a period of significant growth supported by investment from the Community Mental Health Transformation programme. The service currently includes a 12‑bed inpatient unit at Fettle House in Bodmin and a Community Outreach Support team, working in partnership with VCSE organisations, housing providers and wider system partners.
This fixed‑term role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of an innovative, recovery‑focused rehabilitation model for Cornwall. The post includes clinical sessions with the rehabilitation team and one outpatient clinic per week, involving a mix of new referrals and follow‑up appointments. The exact balance of duties will be shaped in line with the successful applicant's experience, interests and aspirations.

* Offer senior clinical leadership within the Rehabilitation Service, supporting effective clinical decision‑making, risk management and assessment.
* Contribute to the team's well‑established training culture by supporting the supervision and teaching of medical students, nursing students and allied health professional trainees.
General Responsibilities
* Provide supervision, appraisal and management of junior medical staff in line with Trust policies, including competency‑based assessments as required.
* Complete all administrative duties associated with patient care, including accurate record‑keeping and timely submission of clinical activity data
