Project Planner - Defence (Construction) / HDP NHS
We have recently been appointed as Joint Health Delivery Partner (HDP) for the New Hospitals Programme for the NHS. As we mobilise for this transformative, national, major infrastructure programme we are recruiting for Project Planners to work as part of the HDP’s programmes and controls function. The Project Planner will work on high profile hospital construction projects throughout the UK, providing performance reporting and analysis support. This may be part of a large team or as the key day-to-day contact point with the client. Key activities include:
* Ensure that schedule related data from vendors, suppliers, engineering and construction contractors of actual projects is provided as feedback into the planning and scheduling systems
* Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the schedules produced, maintaining independence as a planning engineer when advising on issues requiring judgment
* Balance multiple projects executed in multiple locations and by multiple contractors
* Track and monitor portfolio schedule
* Prepare the integrated planning/scheduling contribution to the Monthly Project Report and specific reports/presentations
* Analyze and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance/change order
* Prepare resourcing plans for the overall and individual project phases, identifying any excessive peak numbers and making recommendations for peak leveling
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a project planning environment within construction industry is required
* Ideally educated to degree level, with previous industry and sector experience being essential
* Previous experience of Oracle Primavera P6 is essential
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; rigorous in following documented processes and governance; ability to innovate to meet changing project environment
