Key Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication plans that support colleagues and teams across Ofgem including senior leaders in engaging effectively with staff. Collaborate closely with senior executives and other teams to provide expert counsel on communication strategies and messaging alignment, helping build meaningful dialogue with staff through multiple channels. Ensure key messages are effectively delivered through various formats, such as town halls, executive communications, leadership updates, intranet pages, live events, and direct communications from Directors to their Directorates and the wider organisation. Drive engagement initiatives that foster alignment, pride, and a shared sense of purpose across the organisation, ensuring internal audiences are actively involved in shaping how we work and clearly understand upcoming changes and their impact. Adapt your work as required to support the wider Internal Communications team, including planning, moderating, and hosting key events such as Ofgem-wide meetings. Line manage the work of the Internal Communications Manager and/or Associate. Key Outputs and Deliverables Creation and delivery of strategic internal communication plans for different audiences and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, promoting alignment, and driving organisational change. Engaging and high-quality content that showcases the impact of our work and celebrates the contributions of our employees, including news articles, blog posts, videos, podcasts, and other multimedia formats. Successful execution of a coordinated programme of employee engagement activities and events, such as all-staff video calls, show and tell workshops, staff conference, socials, speaking events, governance forums and leaders events. Collaboration with corporate services and other functions to facilitate access to tools and resources that enhance employee effectiveness and engagement. Measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of internal communication and engagement initiatives using appropriate methods and metrics. Development of the business partner model and effective leadership of the communication and engagement team. Person specification Essential Criteria: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging messages for diverse audiences and channels, ensuring appropriate content, messaging, tone and consistency in all communication, aligned to strategic objectives and planning [Lead Criteria] Proven experience in a senior-level strategic communications role, preferably within a multifaceted organisation. Ability to plan, implement and drive through a clear strategic communications approach in a large, dynamic, diverse and complex organisational context. Ability to lead coordinated engagement across many internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Galvanising action across different teams that need to be joined up) Strong influencing skills and experience of coaching and supporting senior leaders and decision-makers to deliver excellent communications and engagement. Desirable Criteria: Proven experience in communicating effectively during periods of organisational change, including how key messages were shared across the business.
