Job reference 325257 Automation Deployment Manager Salary: £45,944 - £49,654, plus 10% annual bonus (subject to eligibility), 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and company pension scheme Full time 41 hours Blackburn DO We're looking for a hands-on, technically strong Engineering Deployment Manager with a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and proven experience in Automation projects, ideally including conveyor systems and robotics. In this site-based role, you’ll work closely with the Technical Project Manager to deliver automation solutions—from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover—across Royal Mail sites. About the Role Plan and manage the safe and timely deployment of automation projects. Coordinate stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. Oversee plant layouts, installations, and disruption planning with operations teams. Lead site activities including safety, coordination, delivery, and compliance (CDM, PUWER, UKCA). Manage supplier performance, value for money, and commissioning. Support project reporting, trials, and launch plans. About You Qualified Mechanical/Electrical/Automation engineer. Experienced in end-to-end site deployments and project delivery. Strong understanding of CDM regulations and site safety (SMSTS preferred). Skilled in MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, and stakeholder communication. Mobile and flexible, with a proactive, team-oriented approach. While primarily based at the Gloucester Manufacturing Facility, this role may require travel to Royal Mail or supplier sites across the UK and Northern Ireland.
