Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Quality and Technical team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the business by performing analytical and sensory evaluations to ensure raw materials, in process and finished productions meet specifications.
Duties
* To operate safely and to encourage a culture of Health and Safety, reporting near misses and potential hazards.
* To operate within good manufacturing practice (GMP) Standards.
* Carry out assessments of raw materials, in process and finished products following instructions, evaluating for suitability, quality and performance.
* Carry out analyses of samples using various laboratory techniques and equipment.
* Stock control of submitted samples ensuring correct storage, handling and disposal where necessary.
* Carry out non routine testing of materials to determine quality and suitability for use.
* Submit samples on LIMS System, use if system to retrieve relevant test paperwork and use of ERP system.
* Carry out viability checks loose/suspect yeasts and log information.
* Completion of laboratory paperwork, ensuring full and accurate completion.
Requirements
* Although not essential,previous laboratory experience ideally in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage, with a solid understanding of scientific principles.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately.
* Proficiency in using mathematical concepts for calculations related to experiments.
* Experience with quality control procedures and methodologies is an advantage.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are crucial for success in this role.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety, and Level 2 Food Safety in Manufacturing.
* A Food Science and Laboratory qualification would be beneficial.
