£65,000 FTE (equivalent to £39,000 per annum)

Are you a hands-on Health & Safety professional who thrives in high-risk operational environments? Do you have experience in High Voltage environments?
We are seeking an experienced Operational Health & Safety Manager to provide visible, practical safety leadership across live sites within a complex energy and infrastructure setting. This is a part-time opportunity (3 days per week) offering the chance to make a real impact, ensuring safe systems of work, preventing incidents, and embedding a proactive safety culture on the ground.
Responsibilities:
Delivering day-to-day Health & Safety arrangements across operational sites
Acting as the primary on-site H&S contact for managers, engineers, and contractors
Conducting inspections, audits, and compliance checks
Leading incident and near-miss investigations with clear root-cause analysis
Writing, reviewing, and approving RAMS and supporting permit-to-work systems
Delivering toolbox talks, briefings, and practical safety guidance
Tracking corrective actions and escalating significant risks where needed
Championing a positive, proactive safety culture across operationsSkills:
NEBOSH Diploma (essential) with IOSH membership desirable
Strong operational H&S experience within energy, utilities, infrastructure, or other high-risk environments
Proven experience working on live sites with High Voltage electrical systems, substations, or energy centres
Practical knowledge of HV safety rules, permits, and Electricity at Work Regulations
Confidence to challenge unsafe practice and influence stakeholders at all levels
