Are you an experienced Corporate Tax professional looking to broaden your advisory exposure and take the next step in your career?
Carrington Wood is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected professional services firm to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager for their growing Bristol office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within a corporate tax compliance role who is keen to develop their advisory experience across a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses through to large corporate groups. You'll gain exposure to specialist projects including share schemes, corporate transactions, complex tax advisory work and R&D tax relief, whilst working alongside an experienced and supportive tax team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns for a varied client portfolio
- Supporting advisory assignments including capital allowances, R&D claims, corporate restructuring and tax due diligence projects
- Assisting with transaction-related tax work
- Conducting tax technical research and contributing to client projects
- Developing specialist knowledge across areas such as share schemes and innovation reliefs
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Managing multiple assignments to agreed deadlines and budgets
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts
- Collaborating closely with audit and wider advisory teams
- Supporting business development and networking activities
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within a Corporate Tax role
- ATT/CTA or ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent), or part-qualified with relevant experience
- Strong technical corporate tax knowledge
- A desire to develop advisory expertise alongside compliance responsibilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Experience using Alphatax would be advantageous but is not essential
