We are recruiting for vacancies in our Adult Learning Disability team. Roles include opportunities to work in our Adult Learning Disability and Mental Health Forensic services and as part of an Enhanced Support Team for adults with a learning disability. We are flexible in how these hours are utilised and welcome discussions with interested applicants.
The Mental Health and Learning Disability SLT team is part of the wider Fife SLT Service and delivers a quality service within a tiered model of intervention across Fife. The Adult Learning Disability Team is based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline but works across community and inpatient settings across the region.
As a senior and highly experienced member of the wider service you will contribute to strategic planning, policy interpretation and implementation, and support reflective clinical decision making and application of quality improvement methodology.
Responsibilities
* Manage a mixed caseload of communication and swallowing difficulties.
* Respond to referrals/requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
* Provide independent autonomous clinical practice with dysphagia management (postgraduate qualification essential).
* Lead and contribute to service development, quality improvement, and policy interpretation.
* Collaborate with the Mental Health and Learning Disability SLT team to deliver a tiered service model across Fife.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in PDP and peer support processes.
Qualifications and requirements
* Relevant postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
* Autonomy in the management of dysphagia is essential.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Ability to work across community and inpatient settings within the region.
