Kingston Barnes are recruiting for a Controls Engineer for our client in the West Brom area.Our client has been well established for over 250 years. They are the uks largest independent manufacturers of organic chemicals. The Role: Responsibilities include Diagnose and rectify control system failures. Design, specification, and installation of control and safety systems Review/approval of MOC proposals Liaise with internal and external stakeholders e.g. system suppliers, system integrators and contractors Maintain and promote a safe operating culture within the E&I department About you: Experience programming and configuring Allen Bradley control systems Understanding of relevant industry standards (BS/IEC). Good knowledge of functional safety (SIL, LOPA, Safety Instrumented Systems). Ability to work with common engineering documents such as Cause & Effect diagrams, loop drawings, control philosophy, electrical schematics, and datasheets. Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, ProfiNet, Serial, etc.). Knowledge of OT cyber security, IIoT or AI is a bonus. Understanding of chemical manufacturing, large-scale processes, or hazardous areas (ATEX/Intrinsic Safety) is preferred. Previous instrumentation engineering experience is a strong advantage. Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drawing software.
