At Grace Church Family we are currently looking to recruit a Manager for our Restart Social Supermarket initiative. The job is offered on a part time basis 18 hours per week.
Background
Grace Church Family is based in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, and although small, we are an incredibly active church plant. We already have several part time staff working for us, largely in our Deeside Compassion ministries, which support hundreds of people in our local community each month.
The aim of the Deeside Compassion branch of our charity is to see the lives of those who are struggling because of disadvantage improved, not just through meeting their immediate needs but by creating pathways to independence. We want to bring hope in desperate situations, helping people to overcome the underlying issues contributing to their situation.
Restart Social Supermarket supports families on low incomes living in West Aberdeenshire as they look for a fresh start financially. The social supermarket operates online on a membership basis, with qualifying members being entitled to order food, toiletries, and household items every week for a small weekly membership/delivery fee.
We also encourage members of Restart Social Supermarket to engage with other wrap around services offered by Deeside Compassion, including our CAP Debt Centre, CAP lifeskills and Kintsugi Hope mental health services.
In addition to our Deeside Compassion programmes, we also run a number of faith-based activities, including Sunday gatherings, mid-week small groups, outreach programmes and other events.
