Role/Team overview
This role sits in a business‑critical domain responsible for application distribution and orchestration across the Sky Europe estate, reaching tens of millions of customer devices. The team is shaping a modern, aligned capability across Comcast, Sky and Comcast syndication partners globally, focusing on scalable platforms, reliable delivery and strong engineering ownership.
What you’ll do
* Develop and deliver excellent quality software at high scale
* Participate in the full software lifecycle, including support and continuous integration
* Contribute to the technical direction of the team
* Provide guidance and mentoring to other developers on the team
* Share and generate new ideas, provide constructive and useful feedback to peers
* Work with internal Sky teams, external vendors and colleagues in Comcast in the US
What you’ll bring
Essential criteria:
* Commercial experience with at least one modern programming language
* Experience building and supporting production software systems
* Experience with code review, automated testing, debugging and continuous integration
* Proven ability to write maintainable, performant and well‑structured code
* Experience working with and continuously improving CI/CD in an agile team
* Good communication skills and willingness to learn across the stack
Desirable skills and experience:
* Experience with Go or TypeScript
* Experience with AWS cloud services and serverless architectures
* Experience with containers, Kubernetes or infrastructure as code
* Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases
* Experience working with observability and operational tooling
* Experience with solution design
