Overview
Principal Structural Engineer/Associate – Oxford. Salary £58k-£75k. An established and well-known leading property consultancy with over 300 staff throughout the UK is investing in its small in-house structural design team to grow and develop this division. This position is for an experienced Structural Engineer with strong steel and concrete design skills to join the Oxford team and assist with the leadership of the team. It could also be possible to work from the London office on some days if desired. The Oxford structural team currently has 5 structural engineers plus technicians and is planned to grow to around 20 staff in the not too distant future. In addition to hands-on design you will be running projects and assisting with the future growth of the division. Your role will include preparing fee proposals, managing projects and design teams and mentoring more junior staff.
Responsibilities
* Hands-on structural design using steel and concrete.
* Run projects and assist with the growth of the division; mentor junior staff.
* Prepare fee proposals; manage projects and design teams.
* Lead and support the Oxford team; coordinate with the Director of Engineering.
* Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Strong steel and concrete design skills.
* Chartered status or nearing Chartered status.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience leading design projects and teams.
* Experience on projects in the industrial and energy sectors; readiness to work on mainstream buildings as the division grows.
Project Context
Currently, projects are mainly buildings in the industrial and energy sectors, such as data centres worth £400m and substations. More mainstream buildings will come into the mix as the division expands.
Location & Work Arrangement
Based in Oxford; it may be possible to work from the London office on some days if desired.
