SSE's Group Sustainability Practice team has an exciting opportunity for a Climate Manager to lead the monitoring and reporting of SSE's Net Zero Transition Plan and provide advice on emerging climate policies. Reporting directly to SSE's Head of Climate. You will - Work collaboratively with SSE business units to ensure robust governance and effective monitoring of SSE's Net Zero Transition Plan (NZTP). - Provide expert advice on emerging climate policies and practice to inform SSE's Transition to Net Zero, Climate Change Policy and Strategy. - Prepare SSE's annual EU Taxonomy disclosure and Green Bonds reporting in partnership with finance. - Support the sustainability reporting team to prepare sector-leading climate disclosures (e.g. Net Zero Transition Report, SECR, CSA), in alignment with international standards, best practice and contribute positively to climate action in the power sector and corporate world. - Contribute to SSE's climate risk assessments, group-wide strategy for climate adaptation and climate engagement. You have - Strong technical knowledge and understanding of climate science, corporate disclosure frameworks, international and national climate policy frameworks, and climate issues in a corporate context. - Expert data analysis skills with a problem-solving mindset, preferably with strong experience of greenhouse gas accounting and reporting. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions. - Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to oversee complex projects and meet deadlines. - Deep passion for sustainability and a commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
