The role
Job Title: Bid Writer Location: Romford, Essex (Office-Based/Hybrid Considered) Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum Benefits: 21 days holiday plus bank holidays. Self-employed engagement may be considered for the right candidate. Job Description * Prepare, write and coordinate high-quality PQQ, SQ, ITT and tender submissions for social housing maintenance contracts. * Produce compelling, compliant and winning responses for voids, reactive maintenance, kitchen and bathroom refurbishment contracts. * Review tender documentation and develop bid strategies to maximise scoring opportunities. * Coordinate information gathering from operational, commercial and management teams. * Maintain and develop a library of bid content, case studies, CVs and supporting documentation. * Write clear method statements, quality responses and social value submissions tailored to client requirements. * Ensure all submissions are fully compliant with client specifications and submission deadlines. * Manage the bid process from initial opportunity review through to final submission. * Liaise with directors, estimators, contract managers and operational teams to obtain technical input. * Conduct tender analysis, competitor research and lessons-learned reviews. * Monitor tender portals and identify suitable opportunities within the social housing sector. * Assist with framework applications, accreditations and supply chain questionnaires. * Support presentations, interviews and clarification responses following tender submission. * Maintain accurate records of bids, outcomes and performance metrics. * Build a strong understanding of client requirements, particularly local authorities, housing associations and framework providers. * Ensure all bid submissions reflect company values, capabilities and operational strengths. Essential Requirements * Proven experience as a Bid Writer within a social housing maintenance contractor. * Demonstrable experience bidding for voids, reactive maintenance, and kitchen & bathroom refurbishment contracts. * Strong track record of producing successful submissions for housing associations, local authorities and public sector clients. * Excellent written communication, organisation and project management skills. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tender deadlines simultaneously
