The Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick & Gatwick Effingham are excitedly seeking a permanent Cluster Chief Maintenance Engineer to assist with ongoing projects, onsite maintenance, supervising the teams and ensuring our onsite health and safety standards are kept high.
Key responsibilities will be:
* Preventative Maintenance Programmes to achieve consistent high level of customer satisfaction
* Customer contact skills in order to ensure highest satisfaction at all times
* Correct application of planning and organising in order to provide a consistent high level of service
* Demands and request of guests, suppliers and services on accordance with management policies
* The importance of building, maintenance and repair techniques increasing guest satisfaction in meeting and event areas
* New programme development from the idea-stage to implementation and monitoring existing company programmes
* Programmes available to correct identifies deficiencies in product quality
* Information from the guest questionnaire feedback and any other In house logs to identify operational problems
* The Millennium & Copthorne Standards and local legislation within the guest and non-guest areas in the hotel
* Legislation and regulations pertaining to repair and maintenance e.g. building structure, decoration, gas, electric, sewerage, water
* The refurbishment of public areas, bedrooms, mechanical and electrical plant
* The main functions of other departments in order to perform duty management
* Communicate with Corporate and Regional Repair and Maintenance support
* Member of the Executive Team and participation in other department meeting and Hotel Forums
* To request assistance for outside Contractors, obtain competitive quotations and present them to the General Manager for authorisation if work designated is unable to be handled by in house personnel.
* To have in place a 3 year plan for Capital Expenditure.
* To be fully conversant with all plant throughout the Hotel and to ensure that service agreements exist where appropriate and on renewal of these agreements that competitive quotations are obtained from competent service companies and submitted to the General Manager/Financial Controller for approval. In the case of other departments equipment of plant i.e. Kitchen, Housekeeping etc, maintenance agreements should be discussed with the relevant senior departmental manager before submission to the General Manager.
* To purchase required supplies and spare parts at the best possible prices and to ensure that stock holding is kept to an absolute minimum.
* To compile a basic Maintenance Manual, available to all Duty Managers denoting the whereabouts of all services i.e. water supply stop clocks, fuse/distribution board panels etc.
* To monitor all energy costs on a regular basis and to endeavour to reduce these costs on an on-going basis.
* To assist the General Manager, the Financial Controller in the compilation of the annual repairs, maintenance and energy costs budget and once agreed to ensure that you department works within the guidelines of the agreed budget.
