We're looking for a Scheduler & Duty Manager to keep Oakwood Climbing Centre safe, smooth and welcoming for everyone who walks through the door.
Reporting To: Climbing Centre Manager
Salary: £27k-£29k FTE
Term: Permanent, subject to 3 month and 12 month review
Working Hours: Permanent Contract 32-40 hours per week

About Oakwood
Located between Bracknell and Wokingham, Oakwood Youth Challenge is a Christian charity, comprising of Oakwood Outdoors, a residential activity centre, and Oakwood Climbing Centre. Our aim is to provide an environment where individuals of all abilities can progress and be challenged physically, socially and spiritually.
Job Summary
Within the climbing centre, 32 hours of work is available to help deliver the core operations of duty managing and scheduling. There is scope to make this a full time, 40 hour, post and the additional 8 hours would be used to aid the administration of Oakwood's outdoor programmes.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and schedule instructors to deliver weekly sessions efficiently and in line with programme needs.
* Work with the climbing centre management team to develop a rota that uses staff in efficient ways.
* Encourage the team and development of the climbing centre
* Continue to build a friendly and social climbing community
* Manage the weekend and evening running of the centre
* Key holder – Opening and closing of the centre and cash handling.
* Ensuring that all staff operate in line with the Oakwood Ethos
* Team leader - The supervision and management of staff during DM shifts.
* Making sure operations are running safely and correctly.
* Maintaining a safe climbing environment for customers and team.
* Resolving issues - staff or customer related.
* Providing an open dialogue with centre management
* Running and leading sessions to the highest level.
* First aid responder.
* Taking on tasks, challenges and projects and completing to a high level.
* If a full time post, support the administration of Oakwood outdoors to deliver the activity programme.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
1. CWI / RCI or higher
2. Proven experience in the climbing industry
3. Experience in customer facing role
Desirable:
1. Coaching qualification and experience
2. An enthusiastic climber
3. CWDI / Development Coach

What we need from you
* Committed to set regular shift patterns as determined by the Activities Manager and Scheduling Manager
* Work with the outdoor manager and groups as required when they attend the centre
* The ability to resolve conflict or customer complaints.
* Have the mind set to develop climbers from beginners to elite levels.
* Organise the smooth and safe running of the Centre with a proactive mindset.
* To be able to work closely and effectively with the Centre Management in all areas.

Mon: 8:30-17:00 (flexible)
Tues: 8:30-17:00 (flexible)
Weds: 8:30-17:00 (flexible)
Thurs: 13:30-22:00
Fri: Week A: 8:30-17:00 (flexible), Week B: 13:30-22:00
Sat: Week A: 9:30-18:00*, Week B: Off
*Mon/Tues/Weds can be taken in lieu when a Week A Saturday is working.
** If full time, a regular Mon/Tues/Weds can be agreed for outdoor admin
