An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Ageing Well Commissioning Team at Cheshire West and Chester Council. We are a vibrant, innovative and passionate team, who are dedicated to Enabling Great Lives in Cheshire West and Chester.
About the Role:
The postholder will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of adult social care in Cheshire West and Chester where you will be responsible for:
1. Outcomes-based Commissioning – developing and implementing commissioning projects from inception to mobilisation that addresses the needs of older people across our borough. There will be a focus on developing new models of care which are strengths and asset based, person centred, high quality and value for money
2. Leading a commissioning portfolio which is underpinned by community-led support, ensuring coproduction and strength-based approaches are embedded throughout the commissioning cycle
3. Market Shaping – working with a diverse range of providers to develop sustainable and high-quality care and support that delivers person-centred services
4. Performance Management – monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of commissioned services, ensuring value for money and continuous improvement
5. Stakeholder Engagement – building strong and lasting relationships with service users, carers, providers, and other key stakeholders
6. Data Analysis – utilising data and intelligence to inform commissioning decisions and identify areas for improvement.
About You:
7. You will have a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the public sector, in particular the increasing pressures surrounding our ageing population
8. You will possess significant experience in commissioning within a Social Care or Health environment
9. You will have excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
10. You will be able to analyse data and use it to inform effective decision-making
11. You will be committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
12. You will have a degree level or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience commensurate with this role within Social Care, Health, or related field
13. You will have a flexible and resilient approach to your role and possess the ability to confidently manage competing priorities
14. You will have the opportunity and available resources to travel across our borough
