About the role
We are looking for an Ecommerce Director to develop and execute growth strategies, identify new revenue streams and market opportunities. Support in the leverage of digital platforms to grow online presence and accessibility of our direct-to-consumer cycling retail websites. You will help bridge the gap between customer and brand to ensure touchpoints across the customers’ journey are engaging, efficient and effective.
Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for expanding into new markets, optimising digital strategies and increasing customer base and retention. Working closely with the Marketing Director, Ecommerce team, internal teams and external service providers, to ensure that all growth-related initiatives align with the company’s overall objectives.

We are a direct-to-consumer business, we predominantly sell after-market bicycle wheels under the brand Hunt Bike Wheels, operating out of headquarters in West Sussex, England and operations out of the USA and Germany. The goal is to create solutions for all riders, taking an engineering first approach to create cutting-edge performance wheel products for riders around the world.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and execute data-driven growth strategies that unlock new revenue streams, markets, audiences and traffic generation.
* Lead the evolution of the customer lifecycle, identifying key touchpoints and optimising them for engagement, conversion, and retention.
* Provide strategic support to increase opportunities in content delivery and industry leading implementation.
* Using the highest level of SEO and SEM technical skills to manage, analyse and drive improvement against metrics set - ensuring The Rider Firm maintain and outperform our competitors.
* Driving the Affiliate Marketing and Display Advertising plans, working in close collaboration with our Marketing team.
* Lead and evolve the ECRM delivery plan, supporting in the analysis and delivery of segmented Email campaigns.
* Drive Social media strategy and performance across paid and organic social channels, ensuring content, targeting and spend translate into measurable growth in traffic, engagement, and conversion.
* Own the planning, execution and optimisation of all paid search activity (PPC), using data-led testing, audience segmentation and budget control to maximise ROI and rider acquisition.
* Identify and prioritise ROI-driven opportunities across products, platforms, and geographic markets.
* Ensure TRF are providing the best possible rider experience, with our websites and E-Commerce digital channels being key to serving our riders, guiding, exciting and inspiring them on their journey.
* Foster cross-functional collaboration between Ecommerce, Marketing, Commercial, and Product teams to drive synergy and shared success.
* Build, mentor, and empower teams to embrace a growth mindset, fostering innovation and preparing the organisation for future opportunities.
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience and success in Digital Marketing in the retail space and ideally in the direct-to-consumer Ecommerce space.
* Passion for the cycling industry or active lifestyle sectors — understanding the customer mindset is a strong advantage.
* A highly analytical, data led approach to all core decisions.
* Demonstrable expertise in effective delivery of SEO, SEM and ECRM strategies.
* Proficient in the use of Ecommerce technologies i.e. Klaviyo, Shopify, GA4, Google suit, social media channels.
* A drive to compete and be better than our competition is what will create momentum for both you and the Ecommerce team within the wider business.
* A proven ability in developing and executing long-term growth strategies that have resulted in return on investment.
