Reporting to the Operations manager, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the production activities within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures efficient use of resources (materials, labor, equipment, chassis) to meet customer demand and production targets while minimizing downtime and optimizing production flow.
This position will be based in Ellesmere, UK.
Main tasks and responsibilities
* Ensure customers and the sales team remain informed on the status of orders.
* Manage the installation planning process, coordinating with internal and external installers.
* Maintain the Master Production Schedule (SAP).
* Lead weekly planning meetings, ensuring actions are tracked and executed.
* Lead weekly update meetings with sales teams.
* Track production progress, monitor KPIs, and report on output, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
* Liaise with bodybuilders and third parties regarding schedules and deliveries.
* Monitor chassis arrival and dispatch, coordinating with chassis dealers.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across sales and operations to meet customer demand.
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
* GCSE level or equivalent.
* Supply chain or material planning qualifications (desirable).
Working experience:
* 3+ years in a production or manufacturing plant, preferably in a similar industry.
* Experience with ERP planning systems, preferably SAP.
* Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical engineering principles.
* Deep understanding of material flows, work-in-progress, finished goods, and manufacturing principles.
Competencies and skills:
* Good IT skills, including Google platforms, MS Office, and SAP experience.
* Leadership with professionalism.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Confidence and comfort in liaising with departments and stakeholders.
* Self-motivated, capable of working under pressure, and able to operate independently.
* Team player with flexibility regarding tasks.
