Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead our commercial waste and recycling operations. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for managing day-to-day service delivery, ensuring compliance with environmental and transport legislation, and driving operational efficiency. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership skills with a focus on customer service, safety, and sustainability.
What you'll do
* Oversee the day-to-day waste and recycling collection operations.
* Lead, coach, and mentor drivers, supervisors and the service delivery team.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and transport regulations.
* Oversee route planning, scheduling, and operational systems.
* Contribute to budgeting, reporting, and KPI performance tracking.
* Collaborate with our Business Development Team to uphold and surpass service delivery standards.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in waste management, recycling, logistics, or transport operations.
* Strong people-management and leadership skills.
* Knowledge of waste legislation, Duty of Care, and DVSA compliance.
* Financial awareness and budget management experience.
* Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
