Teaching Assistant (Level 2/3) – Primary School

Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant with a passion for early learning and literacy?
TeacherActive is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greater Manchester, who are looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support in the classroom across EYFS or KS1. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience and be confident delivering phonics sessions, with additional experience in small group interventions highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning
Lead or assist with targeted phonics sessions (e.g., Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc., or Jolly Phonics)
Deliver structured intervention groups in core subjects such as reading, writing or maths
Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, EAL or lower prior attainment
Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a UK primary school setting
Be confident leading phonics groups and supporting early reading development
Have experience delivering academic interventions or booster groups
Be proactive, organised and committed to pupil progress
Demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
