Role Summary As a Behaviour Mentor, you will: Work directly with students who struggle to engage or manage behaviour in mainstream settings, supporting their social, emotional and behavioural needs. Use a relational, motivational approach to build trust and connection: you will mentor individuals, facilitate small-group sessions and work proactively on behaviour strategies and routines. Apply quick-thinking, structured and clear approaches when behaviours escalate or routines are disrupted, helping students regain focus and engage positively. Collaborate closely with class teams, pastoral leads and senior staff to implement behaviour support plans, track progress and review interventions. Draw on your background in team-building, leadership or motivational roles (for example military, policing, sports coaching) to engage students, build resilience, model positive habits and help them succeed. Promote inclusion and ensure that every student has access to education, feeling safe, supported and valued. Who This Role Suits This role would be ideal for someone from a: Military or policing background, who brings leadership, resilience, and calm under pressure. Sports coaching or youth work background, where teamwork, motivation, and mentoring are key. Behavioural support or alternative provision setting, where patience, adaptability, and a sense of humour go a long way. You’ll be someone who: Believes in inclusion and second chances. Understands that behaviour is a form of communication and responds with empathy and structure.
