Overview
An opportunity has become available to join Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust as a static Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the Acute Therapies team. This role will primarily support the acute medical admissions into AMU and will work across a diverse range of clinical areas, including respiratory, cardiac, elderly care, general medicine, and surgery. Occupational Therapy plays a vital role in the acute care setting, ensuring that patients experience a seamless and positive journey during their inpatient stay and beyond.
We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to join this static position at Epsom Hospital, with the opportunity to develop expertise in a specialist area and to support the Band 7 in team development activities. The role is suitable for an experienced Band 6 therapist or a Band 5 therapist progressing through a developmental opportunity. The Trust places a strong emphasis on staff support and professional development, fostering continuous learning and growth.
Main duties of the job
* The post holder will be responsible for assessment, treatment planning and intervention delivery for patients referred to their caseload.
* The post holder will supervise junior staff, technicians, assistants and students as appropriate.
* They will be expected to participate in development and monitoring of service standards and to assist in the running of the day-to-day service, and participate in the weekend working rota.
