Job Overview

“The job description is currently under review and pending approval from the Royal College.”

Main Duties of the Job

This post presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic department practicing from a newly built, state of the art 800-bed hospital. You will join the existing WTE NHS Consultants providing Diabetes and Endocrinology service to our population of 500,000 in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

We are first and foremost seeking outstanding candidates to join our team. We are principally looking for new colleagues with the ambition to help us evolve our models of care to deliver outstanding and personally delivered services to our patients.

The postholder will have commitments within the base Acute trust (NBT), Endocrine and Diabetes department at NBT.

The appointee will be contractually accountable to the North Bristol NHS Trust for the provision of services. The appointee will be managerially responsible to the Chief Executive through the Clinical Director. All consultants are required to undergo an annual appraisal carried out in accordance with the Trust policy. Consultants are also required to take an active and co-operative approach to their job planning, which will be reviewed on an annual basis by the Clinical Director. The service is led by a specialty lead (Dr Elizabeth Cheyne) supported by a General Manager (Graham Bartlett) & Specialty Manager (Jade Venning).
