We are currently searching for highly talented, motivated HVAC Service Technicians for our busiest locations: Chadd Ford, PA / Dover, DE / Lewes, DE / Newark, DE.
JOB SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heating and cooling systems. The technician will demonstrate technical competency and ensure sales metrics and KPIs are met by guiding customers to informed buying decisions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Perform maintenance and repairs on residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including gas and oil furnaces, hydronics, heat pumps, air conditioners, ductless systems, and geothermal systems.
2. Troubleshoot, repair, and perform system maintenance.
3. Document findings thoroughly and present options to customers based on their needs and best interests.
4. Complete residential service calls and communicate with dispatch throughout the shift.
5. Have knowledge of various refrigerant types, gases, and electrical voltages.
6. Participate in ongoing HVAC training.
7. Ensure code compliance and follow all safety procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to work evenings and weekends.
2. Lift and transport up to 50 lbs regularly.
3. Climb ladders and work in elevated spaces.
4. Work in attics and tight spaces.
5. Work in various weather conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
1. Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
2. Knowledge of boiler systems.
3. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal).
4. Proficient in reading schematics.
5. Availability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays.
6. Ability to work in confined spaces.
7. Customer rapport-building skills and promoting repeat business.
8. Goal-oriented and flexible schedule.
9. Clean driving record and valid Driver’s License.
10. Clean criminal background and pass pre-employment drug screening.
11. Energetic, positive, and self-motivated attitude.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
2. At least 1 year of HVAC technician experience and willingness to continue HVAC education.
3. EPA Certification.
4. NATE Certification.
