Mencap is seeking passionate Night Support Workers to join our team in Askern, Doncaster.
As a Night Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group of people, each with unique abilities and needs. Your role includes assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support, playing a vital part in their lives.
Our service supports individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and communication difficulties. Support Workers provide the physical and emotional support needed daily, including assistance with personal care, medication, finances, activities, and helping individuals achieve their goals.
Qualities and Skills Required:
* Relationship Building: Essential for gaining trust, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
* Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
* Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts constructively.
What we're looking for:
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
* Enjoyment in interactive support with the people we support.
Contract options:
* Part-time only
* 21:00 - 07:00
* Must be flexible to cover weekends on a rota basis
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
